Admin Support Guide

Troubleshooting and maintenance procedures for system administrators.

System Overview

  • Dashboard: Central hub for creating, monitoring, and managing all livestreams.
  • Ad Manager: Campaign management, commercial asset uploads, Ads Library, 24-hour spot scheduler, per-stream Station Ident detection, and Proof-of-Play reports.
  • Administration: Tabbed control center for Service Control, Users (with search & Advertisement Admin roles), Proxies, System Health, Huawei Cloud & OBS/VOD settings, and Audit Trail.

Troubleshooting Streams

1. Stream is Offline or Glitching

  • Check Encoder: Ensure the source (OBS, vMix, or hardware encoder) is sending a stable stream to the RTMP (:1935/live/<key>) or SRT (:5000) entry point.
  • Source Setup & YouTube URL: Open the stream's Source Setup tab to verify the stream key and optional per-stream YouTube Channel / Live URL.
  • Service Logs: Check the unified transcoder and Gunicorn logs:
journalctl -u onesignal-transcoder -u onesignal -n 100 --no-pager

2. "Could Not Load Stream Details" Alert

This usually indicates an authentication session expiration or a local browser cache issue.

  • Action: Perform a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R) to clear the browser cache.
  • Check API: Ensure the backend Gunicorn service is running:
systemctl status onesignal.service

3. DVR / Rewind Not Working

If a stream cannot be rewound:

  • Feature Flag: Check the stream's settings in the database or admin panel. dvr_enabled should be enabled.
  • Huawei OBS Settings: Verify that your Recordings OBS Bucket Name and credentials are configured under Administration → Huawei Cloud & OBS.

Troubleshooting Snipping & Huawei Cloud VOD

1. Snip Generation or VOD Processing Fails

  • Huawei VOD Configuration: Ensure Huawei Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, OBS Bucket, and Huawei VOD Project ID are saved under Administration → Huawei Cloud & OBS.
  • Disk Space: Ensure there is sufficient free space in /tmp, /opt/onesignal/clips/, and /opt/onesignal/ads/:
df -h /opt/onesignal

2. External Pull / YouTube Source Fails

  • Proxy Pool: Open Administration → Proxies to sync fresh proxies from Webshare, add custom proxies, or click Rotate Active Proxy.

System Maintenance

Restarting Core Services

You can restart services directly from Administration → Service Control in the web UI, or via systemd on the server:

systemctl restart nginx mysql redis-server onesignal onesignal-srt-gateway onesignal-transcoder

Viewing System Logs

  • Gunicorn API Logs: /opt/onesignal/logs/gunicorn_error.log & gunicorn_access.log
  • FFmpeg & Compositor Logs: /opt/onesignal/logs/ffmpeg/
  • Installer Log: /var/log/onesignal_install.log
